MUSEUM-QUALITY CUSTOM PICTURE FRAMING SINCE 1986

Founded by Elizabeth Goldfeder in 1986, GK Framing has helped homeowners, collectors, artists, galleries, museums, and interior designers protect, preserve, and beautifully present everything from cherished family heirlooms to museum-quality art collections.

Every project begins with a personal consultation. Elizabeth and her experienced team guide you through every step, creating custom framing solutions that complement both your artwork and your home.

MUSEUM-QUALITY CONSERVATION FRAMING

Exceptional framing is about far more than selecting a beautiful moulding. It requires an understanding of art history, conservation, craftsmanship, and the unique needs of every artwork.

At GK Framing, we use museum-quality conservation materials and techniques whenever appropriate, including acid-free mounting, UV-protective glazing, Japanese paper hinges, reversible wheat starch paste, and archival framing methods that help preserve artwork for future generations while remaining fully reversible.

Whether you’re framing works on paper, photography, paintings, textiles, memorabilia, or oversized contemporary art, every project is designed to protect the artwork while enhancing its visual impact.

EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE

Visit our ground floor showroom and conservation studio at 169 Hudson Street in Tribeca, where every custom frame is designed, fabricated, and finished under one roof. We are the only shop 100% Woman Owned in NYC with an on premise woodshop and workrooms.

COME TAKE THE TOUR!

Through our glass-walled workshop, you’ll see museum-quality framing in progress—from precision mat cutting and archival mounting to final assembly and finishing. Every detail reflects our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, conservation, and personalized service.

We believe custom framing is both an art and a science. Our goal is to create framing that complements your artwork today while helping preserve it for generations to come.

IN HOUSE PRODUCTION WORKSHOP

Experience the difference of working with one of New York City’s few custom framing studios where design, fabrication, and final assembly are all completed under one roof.

Located in the heart of Tribeca at 169 Hudson Street, GK Framing gives clients a rare opportunity to work directly with Elizabeth Goldfeder and watch exceptional craftsmanship come to life. Unlike many framing companies that outsource production, every project is designed, fabricated, and carefully inspected in our own museum-inspired workshop.

Our dedicated cleanroom fitting area with HEPA filtration helps protect artwork during its final stages of framing, while every project undergoes meticulous quality control before leaving our studio. Whether you’re framing a treasured family photograph, a contemporary work of art, or an important collection, your artwork receives the same level of care, precision, and conservation-minded craftsmanship.

We invite our Tribeca neighbors, collectors, interior designers, artists, and homeowners to visit our showroom, meet our team, and experience the difference that nearly four decades of custom framing expertise can make.
